New Certification Program Means More Credibility for Texas Evidence Photographers
Due to a new partnership between the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) and the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, evidence photographers in Texas will soon have another training avenue available: the Certified Evidence Photographer (CEP) program, coming to San Antonio January 13-18, 2011.

onOne Software has announced the immediate availability of iPhone App DSLR Camera Remote 1.3. This update features new camera support as well as several product enhancements, including:
- Support for Nikon D3s, Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 1D MK IV
- Canon EOS Rebel T1i and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility improvements
- Simplified simultaneous multiple option usage
- Improved logging to aid in networking troubleshooting
- This is a free update for all owners of DSLR Camera Remote Professional or Lite. It is important for users to update both the DSLR Camera Remote app on their iPhone or iPod Touch AND update the DSLR Camera Remote Server at the same time to version 1.3.
To get the free updates:
- Use the "Check for Updates" function inside iTunes on your computer
- Use the "Check for Updates" function inside the App Store app on your iPhone or iPod Touch
- Download the updated server from www.ononesoftware.com/iphone

Photographers Stand Out in Letter Delivered to White House
We asked and you responded! Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC) members turned out on behalf of professional photographers to sign The Copyright Alliance's letter asking President Obama and Vice President Biden to pursue policies supportive of artists' rights.
On Monday, November 16, the letter—signed by over 11,000 artists nationwide—was delivered by a select group of artists who met with Kalpen Modi and Greg Nelson, key personnel on technology and the arts in the White House Office of Public Engagement.

Evidence Photographers Follow EPIC School to Nashville
EPIC School—in a different location almost every year—is coming to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., January 10-12, 2010. Focused on helping evidence photographers gain the latest skills they need for a successful, professional career, EPIC School offers education from the basics of evidence photography to in-depth, hands-on workshops and certification opportunities.
“Evidence photography is often in demand, as the need for good forensic evidence increases. From insurance companies to law enforcement agencies, the market is diverse…if photographers have the knowledge and skills required,” says Claire White, the Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC) association manager. “To hone such skills and keep up to date, evidence photographers need the training found at EPIC School.”

Stock Artists Alliance Joins World’s Largest Affiliation of Professional Photographers
The Stock Artists Alliance (SAA) announced today that it will merge with the Alliance of Visual Artists (AVA), an umbrella organization representing five photographic associations and some 45,000 professional photographers worldwide.

New Evidence Photography Certification a Huge Success
ATLANTA - Newly Certified Evidence Photographers left Phoenix early this year, recipients of the inaugural Evidence Photographer Certification held at EPIC School, the educational convention of the Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC).
"It's the best training I have ever had in my career," says Chris Cardin, Fire Marshal for the San Juan County Fire Department. "I will shoot crime scenes in a completely different way, due to this education."
First offered January 8-13, 2009, the EPC was a strenuous combination of education, testing, and image taking. Sgt. Scott DeBroux, an expert with many titles including Forensic Photographer, Crime Scene Investigator, and Criminal Justice Instructor, led this six-day brain marathon with great results. With the resources and education provide, this certification exam had a 94 percent pass rate!

ATLANTA – The Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC) has just launched the Evidence Photographer Certification (EPC). After nearly a year of research with a team of seventeen leading experts in the evidence photography industry (including FBI, the secret service, educators and crime scene specialists) and the backing of the Photographic Certification Commission the Evidence Photographer Certification aims to set the industry guidelines and standards—needed in this ever-changing industry.

Imaging USA 2008 Draws Record Numbers on Opening Day
Imaging USA 2008, the first major convention and trade show of the year for professional photographers, opened it's first day in sunny Tampa, Florida with the best attendance on a first day than it's ever had. Registration will remain open through Tuesday morning, and with the first day's indications, Imaging USA 2008 will break all records set in previous years.

The voice of all professional photographers just got louder…and stronger. Two already powerful associations have teamed up to tackle issues photographers face. The Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC), the premier association for evidence and forensic photography, recently joined forces with the Alliance of Visual Artists (AVA), the world’s largest umbrella group of professional photography associations. Now the already influential AVA has an even more unified front and greater impact on issues concerning photographers’ livelihoods.
