Created with evidence photographers’ needs in mind: 2009 EPIC School

ATLANTA –Education and the latest industry techniques are increasingly important for the evidence photographer. And attendees can get all that education and more at EPIC School @ Imaging USA 2009 (www.ImagingUSA.org ) in Phoenix, Ariz., January 11-13, 2009.

This educational event focuses on making today’s evidence photographers better equipped and ready for the various situations they face. With topics like “Lighting Techniques for Crime Scenes,” “Photography of Trace Using Accutrans,” and the full day on photography basics (January 10), EPIC School aims to help all industry photographers—both new and advanced.

The new Evidence Photographer Certification (EPC), a unique certification for evidence photographers, will also be launched at EPIC School. Material will be presented through hands-on education with a well-respected evidence photography professional.

EPIC School brings its extensive offerings together for the second year with Imaging USA (www.ImagingUSA.org ), the photo event by the Alliance of Visual Artists (AVA) that drew 8,600 photographers last year. The combination of these conferences assures attendees of even more valuable career information, including a full day of business education. And to keep the structure convenient, all programming will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center, which is also where the 600-booth Imaging Expo will be.

By joining forces with Imaging USA, attendees of EPIC School will have access to the industry’s most diverse forum for photographic education. In addition, the special presentation with Anne Geddes, the evening activities, and convention-wide parties are up for grabs.

EPIC School is the place where serious evidence photographers can get the education they need, fine-tune skills, find products, network, and have fun…all in the same place.

About EPIC
EPIC was founded in 1968 as a nonprofit educational and scientific organization for advancing forensic photography and videography in civil evidence and law enforcement. In May 2007, EPIC merged with the Alliance of Visual Artists (AVA), which includes PPA, SEP, CPI, and the Student Photographic Society (SPS). About Imaging USA
With the largest photography expo in North America, diverse educational sessions, and the International Print Exhibition, Imaging USA has established itself as the first major photographic event of the year. Imaging USA began as the annual convention and tradeshow for Professional Photographers of America and is the longest running national photographic convention, expo and image exhibition in the United States. In 2000, the name was changed to Imaging USA to reflect the evolution of the show and changes in the industry. In 2006, Imaging USA became home to two new conferences: SEPCON (the Sport and Event Photographers Conference), the annual conference of the Society of Sport and Event Photographers (www.SEPsociety.com ), and the Commercial Photography Conference, the annual conference of Commercial Photographers International (www.MyCPI.com ). In 2006, Imaging USA also welcomed Adobe as an official sponsor of the Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for Photographers track. Finally, in 2008, EPIC School began to co-locate with this event.
